But I am always this passionate about everything that I do.
I began my wellness journey many years ago, when I discovered that I loved to garden, and that I had a dairy allergy. Little by little, I learned how to live dairy free, and to incorporate healthful eating into my every day routine.
Later on, as a new mama, I sought help for my son's crippling stomach aches and diarrhea. As I searched for answers, I discovered the gluten and casein free diet. My son found immediate relief and my life was forever changed as I learned the in's and out's of healthy, nutritious eating with severe food restrictions; my son tested allergic and intolerant to almost every food he ate. That was a frustrating time as we healed his gut through elimination diets, trial and error, careful food reintroductions and gut healing.
Fast forward many years later and as my child thrived, my health was heading downhill. Seemingly random symptoms were cropping up like hair loss, constipation, bloated tummy, extremely dry skin, Hashimoto's thyroiditis and such painful menstrual cramps that nearly drove me to seek help in the ER. I tried every type of change in diet, routine, exercise - all to no avail. As a next step, we tested for SIBO and I was positive for methane and hydrogen. Eee gads! Over the years since, in healing my SIBO, we (my naturopath and I) discovered I also had parasites and an amoeba which had staked their territory in my intestinal system.
As I heal my gut, my symptoms slowly disappear, and a more healthy me emerges, in my body and my soul. I'm learning to care for myself gently, and am driven to support others on their own healing journeys.
I'm a graduate of the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, with a professional certificate in Integrative Nutrition Health Coaching. I am a Certified International Health Coach (CIHC). I am also a Sibo Pro Course Participant.
Way back when, I earned a BS in Range Management from Montana State University and in addition, I have completed college coursework in nutrition and the human body.
In an effort to heal from past trauma and seek awareness and balance in my mind and heart, I study meditation in the Vipassana (Insight) Tradition and have completed over 4 plus years of group and private study.
In 2019 I became certified as a professional mountain bike coach through PMBIA and have been passionately leading and mentoring women and teens on bikes since 2009 through the Bozeman Pedal Project, Liv Cycling (returning as an ambassador for 2020) and most recently with NICA (National Interscholastic Cycling Association). I have also been a student in Marie Forleo's B-School, learning from the best of the best on business practices for entrepreneurs.
In coaching clients, I weave together nutrition and wellness expertise with everyday mindfulness to help clients heal their bodies and live the life they wish for.
My life is rounded out by time spent in the great outdoors with my family, foreign travel adventures, veggie and flower growing, horse riding and, of course, lots of bike riding. To help me be the best me, I practice yoga and meditation regularly.
